Overview
A skeletal trailer is a frame designed around a container’s corner castings. It is light, so more of the vehicle’s capacity is left for cargo, and it is the usual choice for standard container movements.
A flatbed trailer has a full deck. It can carry containers as well as loads that are not containerised, and is useful where the cargo or the handling method at site calls for an open platform.

Typical requirements

02

Process
Tell us what needs to move, from where and to where.
Container size, type and weight, with pickup and delivery points.
We check vehicle availability and confirm the rate.
Vehicle, timings and site contacts are agreed.
Pickup and delivery sites are kept informed.
Delivery is confirmed and the documents are closed.
Planning
Tractor-trailers need room to enter, turn and stand. Tell us about narrow approaches or tight yards in advance.
Lifting equipment is normally arranged at the pickup and delivery sites. Confirming it early avoids waiting time.
Containers are seated and locked to the chassis; open-deck loads need suitable securing for the journey.
